Credit Review Officer Opportunity Overview

Perform independent review of the company's loan portfolio. Assess credit risk, ensure adherence to bank policy, note any potential weaknesses with individual extensions of credit, and ensure accuracy of individual risk ratings assigned to credits.
As a Credit Review Officer with Banner Bank you will have the opportunity to:
- Lead Unit Credit Examinations as assigned.
- Responsible for evaluating the financial condition and credit worthiness of borrowers.
- Responsible for reviewing credit and collateral files, noting deficiencies and/or technical exceptions with regards to documentation and file maintenance.
- Responsible for evaluating assigned risk ratings for accuracy. Review findings with lending unit staff and Credit Examiner. Prepare written findings for examinations.
- Assist in final report preparation, noting deficiencies and making recommendations for improvement if not leading unit examination.
- Monitor problem loan work-out situations via participation in monthly reporting calls. Assist in training and development of new Credit Review staff.
- Assist in desk review of new loan originated when not involved in on-site examinations. Assist in sample selection and/or modification based upon insight obtained via desk review function and monthly problem loan reports.
- Responsible for complying with policies, procedures, security requirements, and government regulations. Assess compliance with Bank policy and regulatory requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Certifications
|
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or equivalent combination required
|
Experience
|
- More than 8 years in of Internal Loan Review, Regulatory Examination and/or Commercial Credit experience required. Commercial and/or Real Estate lending experience preferred.
|
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
|
- Possess a thorough understanding of loan documentation and collateral perfection.
- Possess a working knowledge of sound lending practices and the Bank’s lending guidelines.
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrate good financial analysis skills.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, and Microsoft Windows.
- Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations relating to consumer, commercial, and real estate lending.
