Area Manager Fleet Operations at AT&T in St Louis, Missouri

Job Description:

Supervises the efforts of management subordinates who coordinate the acquisition and disposition of vehicles, preventative maintenance and repair services for vehicles, trailers, and other special work equipment. May be responsible for supervising management subordinates that are responsible for fuel purchases and load balancing. Implements, administers and supervises quality teams, client issues and expense reduction initiatives. Manages through subordinate supervisors the coordination of activities of a section or department with responsibility for results in terms of costs, methods and employees. Provides ad administers interdepartmental motor pools, develops specifications, bids and awards contracts for various equipment and supplies related to fleet operations, analyzes cost data to ensure lowest cost service to client groups. Develops subordinates. Works on issues of diverse scope whre analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends. Acts as advisor to subordinates to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems. Erroneous decisions or failure to ahieve results will add to costs and may impact the short-term goals of the organization. Typically reports into the 3rd Level of Management. SUPERVISORY: YES

This position may be responsible for contributing to AT&Ts compliance with environmental laws and regulations as applicable to its job function. This may include, but is not limited to, work related to fuel tanks, emergency and stand-by generators, boilers, hazardous waste, hazardous materials, batteries, manholes and vaults, water wells, linear and other construction projects, water discharge, or air emissions.

• Education:  Preferred Bachelor’s degree and/or 5 years or more experience in field.

Experience:  Must have a minimum of 3 years of Fleet experience, and minimum of 5 years in managed management personnel.
