This position will be focusing primarily on our Motive Power applications, which include industrial lift trucks and pallet jacks, rail equipment, mining equipment, and airline ground support equipment. Some of the motive power brands include Hawker, Ironclad, General Battery, and Fiamm. Wherever there is a need for motive power, EnerSys offers the perfect energy solution.

Job Purpose

A Verification and Validation (V&V)lithium technician carries out the day to day testing set forth by the VeVa engineers and Battery Test Center Manager. This person will be responsible for setting up test stations, executing the test protocols set forth in the test plans. The V&Vtechnician will monitor the status of the test during the test cycles and collecting the test data to provide to the engineers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The incumbent utilizes electrical test techniques as set forth by engineering to ensure test protocols are executed reliably and most importantly safely. He or she will be the expert technician to support the functional validation testing and certifications and provide input into the continuous improvement efforts of the test lab. This person will also be required to troubleshoot component and subassembly electronics and communications. Technicians will routinely be working with voltage systems from 24V to 1500V DC and will be trained in high voltage applications when applicable.

• Provide electrical and battery test expertise


• Ensures compliance with engineering and certification requirements:maintenance of validation data/support safety protocols of the test lab


• Provide technical leadership to the product validation test plans and execution.


• Provide test results to engineering


• Contribute to the QA policy of Enersys


• Contribute to a continuous improvement promotion within the department


• Observe all safety guidelines for all routine and special activities.

Qualifications

Education:

• Technical 2-year degree in an engineering discipline. Maybe offset with test experience of 5+ years

Experience:

• 2+ years of experience in system or electronics testing, validation, or similar position


• Must have excellent interpersonal skills in working in a high stress team environment where safety protocols are closely followed on a daily basis


• Ability to work independently and with test teams


• Hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment


• General knowledge of documentation and release process

Preferred:

• Development experience with test communication protocols


• Python programming experience a plus


• Ability to operate electronic test equipment


• Experience collaborating with department team members


• Experience maintaining safe work practices and environment


• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and to set own priorities


• Basic understanding of power conversion topologies (buck, boost, buck-boost, NPC, H- Bridge, resonant) a plus


• Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office applications


• Comfortable working with 'mains' electrical supply
