The Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group, (MAPMG) is one of the nation's premier multispecialty medical groups and is the largest integrated medical group in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia. Job Summary:
We are seeking a Certified Leadership Coach and Trainer to join a team of coaches that are responsible for designing, marketing, directing and delivering training programs and coaching interventions to support organizational initiatives and improve MAPMG physician/staff performance.
This position may temporarily begin 100% remote and will eventually be based in our Rockville, Maryland regional office with the ability to work remotely a few days a week.
Responsibilities:
Collaboratively manages all Clinician-Patient Communication, Leadership, and Team-Building training and development programs and initiatives (in-person and online) from concept to delivery
Provides individual coaching sessions as indicated to support a physician or staff member’s success in the office and/or clinical environment
Consults with physician and staff leadership on a variety of personnel and strategic issues
Conducts small group facilitation by observing, coaching and providing feedback to physicians and staff
Develops an understanding of the Member-Patient Satisfaction Survey (MPS) and helps to design initiatives that are geared to improve overall scores of the patient and physician relationship or interaction
Stays well-informed on physician wellness influences and provides individual coaching on evidence-based strategies for resiliency skill building and burnout prevention
Supports other programs specific to organizational initiatives and departmental/team needs/interests including (but not limited to) our weekly department newsletter, internal podcast, and internal webinar series
Develops and implements educational content in a variety of formats (job aids, podcasts, webinars, eLearning modules, short videos, blended training programs, etc.)
Conducts needs assessments and analyzes data for trends in order to determine training needs for physicians and staff
Conducts research on external training programs and products for internal use
Participates in the Interregional monthly/quarterly meetings as needed
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required such as education, communication, management development, instructional design, organizational development required. Master’s degree preferred
Credentialed as a certified coach. Professional Certified Coach (PCC) or above is a requirement. Strong preference given to those certified in leadership coaching, 1:1 coaching, and team coaching
Ability to interact effectively and comfortably with physicians and various levels of management. Strong preference given to candidates with healthcare experience
Preference given to candidates with coaching or training experience in wellness, resilience and burnout prevention
Excellent presentation, coaching and consulting expertise
Advanced skill in building creative and innovative content for communication and leadership skill development (in-person and virtual)
Must possess strong team building, group interaction, and analytical skills
Preference for multi-lingual candidates and/or experience working in multi-lingual environments
Must have excellent communication (written and verbal), problem solving, facilitation, and consulting skills
Ability to have fun working as a member of a high-functioning collaborative team
A strong working knowledge of basic software applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint and web-based programs are required. Basic skills in creating programs with computer graphics preferred
Excellent organizational and time management skills within an environment that will have competing priorities and can quickly change direction
Must understand the need and have the ability to handle confidential information appropriately
