VARIATIONS IN IMPLEMENTATION OF QUALITY INTERVENTIONS (VIQI)

FIELD STAFF

Part-time work paying $15.65 per hour plus $4.54 Health & Welfare benefit, a total of $20.19 per hour!

LOCATION:

Little Rock, AR

RTI International, is seeking part-time data collectors to work on an early childhood center-based research study. This important research study, led by MDRC, is designed to learn more about children's experiences in preschool settings. Data collectors will travel to participating centers to collect parental consent forms from parents in participating preschools.

This position will offer, on average, 20 hours per week from August to early October 2021. Candidates must be available to work daytime, weekday hours, particularly between the hours of 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. At times, evening hours may be required to attend parent events to intercept parents and present study information to the target population. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply. Additional work may be available past October as part of future phases of the study.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:


  • Attend a web-based project training and pass certification requirements set forth by the project.

  • Available to work, on average, 20 hours per week from August through early October 2021.

  • Be willing to travel reasonable distances to reach assigned sites.

  • Be comfortable working in a school setting, and in all types of neighborhoods.

  • Independently manage workload of approximately 2-3 early childhood centers.

  • Work with assigned early childhood centers to determine the best method for distributing consent forms to parents with children in participating classrooms.

  • Attend parent events to present the study to the target population and promote participation.

  • Travel to sampled early childhood centers to distribute and collect consent forms from parents during morning drop-off and pick-up times. It is expected you will visit a school a minimum of 2 days a week, covering both pickup and drop off times.

  • Schedule additional meetings with the center administrator to check on the status of parental permission forms and review any parent refusals received.

  • Track parental permission results, communications with center administrators, and log updates related to logistics.

  • Assume full responsibility for use and care of project equipment, taking reasonable and appropriate steps to safeguard against damage, loss, or theft and return at the conclusion of the assignment or at a supervisor's request.

  • Have strong attention to detail.

  • Be able to complete, organize, and safely store paperwork.

  • Adhere to all project deadlines and maintain accurate records of progress and administrative reports.

  • Complete all required activities in a professional manner, while maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of all information acquired.

  • Must be willing to agree to any COVID-19-related protocols put in place by RTI. These could include, among others, wearing face coverings, gloves, taking temperatures daily, social distancing with survey respondents, and/or completing a health pledge. All safety supplies required for use on the project will be provided by RTI.








QUALIFICATIONS


  • Have a minimum of an associate degree.

  • Have reliable transportation, either with a personal vehicle or public transportation.

  • A valid drivers' license and automobile insurance as required by your state.

  • Have regular access to an in-home internet connection to complete data collection tasks.

  • Effective interpersonal and verbal communication skills.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:


  • Experience working on school-based research studies, particularly in preschool settings.

  • Degree in Early Childhood Education, Psychology, or related field.

  • Bilingual (Spanish) Preferred.

COMPENSATION:


  • This position falls under the U.S. Department of Labor Service Contract Act (SCA). Hourly wage will be determined based on the county in which work is being performed. The pay rate for Faulkner County, AR is $15.65/hour. In addition to hourly pay, a Health and Welfare stipend of $4.54 per hour will be provided for up to 40 hours per week.

  • Project related mileage would be reimbursed at the government rate, currently $.56/mile and there is a per diem for overnight travel.

TRAINING:

Data Collectors are required to attend one of several web-based training sessions scheduled throughout August. Trainees must successfully complete training including online courses, teleconferences, and an oral certification to continue employment on the project.
