Summary/Objective

The Payroll Specialist will support LCI's weekly payroll processing through the accurate gathering, entering, calculating, and reconciling of pay, time, and team member data.

Essential Functions

  1. Administration of team member time keeping system including timecard adjustments, maintenance of time-off accruals, and reporting and balancing of timekeeping data to reconcile with payroll preview results.

  2. Maintains payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data.

  3. Maintains employee records to ensure employee changes are entered correctly and in a timely manner.

  4. Reviews accuracy of approved time sheets

  5. Gathering required SOX approvals from plant management

  6. Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages.

  7. Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.

  8. Works directly with operations and accounting on special reporting requests.

  9. Performs systems training with HR/Admin team members and operations leadership

  10. Reviews accuracy of team member tax liability by performing audits and multi-jurisdiction changes when necessary

  11. Researches and supports department knowledge of up-to-date federal, state and local tax withholding requirements

  12. Maintains compliance with company policy by auditing system changes.

  13. Prepares and completes correspondence and employment/earning verifications for the payroll department

  14. Administers additional, voided, or reissued paychecks

  15. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops

  16. Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.

  17. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee may have to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time salary position, Monday through Friday. Any additional schedule requirements will be decided by the Director Of Payroll.

Travel

Travel would be minimal and would be primarily local during the business day.

Required Education and Experience


  1. Minimum of a high school education.

  2. 2 (two) years of payroll administration experience is preferred

  3. Computer proficiency in all Microsoft programs

  4. Required experience in: General math & reporting

  5. Quality written & verbal communication skills

Preferred Education and Experience


  1. Manufacturing/industry experience

  2. Office experience

  3. Ultimate Software experience
