GIS Apps Product Engineer

Responsibilities

Work as part of a development team to build, test, and release web and mobile apps for iOS, Android, and Windows devices
• Work with product teams across ArcGIS to influence upcoming development


• Evaluate and provide feedback on new software designs through design and implementation reviews


• Perform automation testing to assess product quality as well as in-field testing and customer workflow evaluation to confirm release readiness


• Write conceptual topics and step-by-step tutorials geared towards GIS administrators or field workers to aid in the deployment of our apps

More experienced engineers will:

• Work with customers to understand requirements, document workflows, and implement solutions


• Design and build highly responsive Android, iOS, and Windows-based apps


• Lead initiatives for new software designs and product architecture

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience with ArcGIS software or other geospatial technology


• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills


• Passion and ability to deliver quality work in a timely and efficient manner, in teams or individually


• Proficiency in a modern software language such as Python, Swift, Kotlin, JavaScript, or C#


• Bachelor's or master's in GIS, computer science, or a related field, depending on position level

Recommended Qualifications

• Proven ability to define, manage, and deliver geospatial solutions


• Prior experience with software development and release of commercial software products
