Department Overview
The Stress, Cognition, Affect, and Neuroimaging (SCAN) Lab, under the direction of Kristen Mackiewicz Seghete, PhD, has an opening for an energetic and highly motivated part-time research assistant (10 hrs/wk).
Function/Duties of Position
This position will support federally funded studies focused on better understanding mental health during pregnancy and postpartum. The position will involve leading Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) intervention groups for pregnant people. Groups may be conducted virtually or in-person.
Specific duties include:
Conducting study groups virtually or in person
Administrative duties related to the study groups
Continuing training related to the study
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree; OR Associate's degree and 2 years of relevant experience; OR 4 years of relevant experience
Sufficient computer knowledge to effectively use Microsoft Word and Excel, cloud-based data sharing platforms, virtual meeting platforms; and computer-based video recording software
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to individuals with a master's degree in a clinically relevant field, such as clinical psychology, social work, or counseling
Preference will be given to applicants with a background in MBCT, particularly in a group setting
Preference will be given to applicants with experience in leading MBCT groups
