Job Description:

Estimate Starting salary: $60,828 increase based on experience

Purpose and Scope of Job:
The primary areas of responsibility are the development of innovative and cost effective product enhancements, product options and modifications, and new products.
Essential Functions (other duties may be assigned):

Analyze product development requirements and objectives.
Research and evaluate potential solutions for cost effectiveness and feasibility.
Create project test plans that include schedule, estimated costs, risks, and deliverables.
Create work instructions for the Research and Development Technician in accordance with SMA safety standards.
Creation, organization and maintenance of Project documentation and.
Inspect components and assemblies and evaluate test data.
Author test reports detailing goals, results, offering recommendations, and lessons learned.
Author technical papers relating to product expertise; present the information internally in SMA and externally.
Participate in process improvement efforts as necessary.
Participate in industry and association meetings and represent SMA as a technical expert.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) equivalent experience with at least five (5) years experience in the rotating equipment industry or related industries.
Strong knowledge of Project and Specifications Management, internal gearing product applications, and test and measuring equipment.
PMP certification preferred.
Strong communications skills; both verbal and written.
Good decision-making and problem-solving abilities based on analytical / statistical approach.
