PACCAR Technical Center is seeking an engine aftertreatment development engineer to support the calibration, integration and testing of engine aftertreatment systems as part of the PACCAR Global Engines team.
Job Functions / Responsibilities
Define and execute calibration, verification and testing activities to support engine aftertreatment development in vehicle and in the test cell environment
Collaboration with global PACCAR vehicle, OBD calibration and Engine performance teams to successfully integrate aftertreatment functions
Recommend, develop and execute on continuous process improvement to improve product quality, reliability and durability of the MX engine aftertreatment system
Stays aware of new and upcoming aftertreatment technologies and testing methods
Complete reports and presentations to communicate findings, draw conclusions and give recommendations on next steps
Maintain positive working relationship with other groups at the PACCAR Technical Center and other PACCAR divisions
Qualifications
1-5 years of work experience in the automotive industry
Understanding of heavy duty diesel emissions regulatory requirements including diagnostics
Understanding of current diesel exhaust aftertreatment technology (DOC, DPF, SCR & DEF)
Knowledge of engine control system strategies and how they pertain to diesel engine and aftertreatment systems
Scripting and data analysis experience desired
Experience with data collection, analysis and test planning is preferred
Must be self-directed; possess excellent analysis, communication and presentation skills; must be organized and take a rigorous approach to engineering projects
Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
Must be able to manage personal workload and have the willingness, flexibility, and initiative to respond to shifting time and project demands
Ability to travel up to 15%, including international travel
Education
BS in a technical (STEM) field required, MS preferred
