SECRETARY II at Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, New York

Job Description:

This role performs secretarial and routine administrative duties. The Secretary II provides support to Orthopedic Surgery patients during physician office hours and following office visit or surgical procedures. Supports daily operation of physician office hours including coverage of front end. Prioritizes assignments and organizes functions to insure effective office operations. May lead and direct clerical staff. Performs related work as required

Please note:In the event of an emergency, vacation and/or staffing shortage, this role will cover all orthopedic locations (Map 6, Wakefield, Tarrytown, White Plains etc.) asneeded. This role also supports multiple providers and will be expected to work on Saturday and work later shifts as needed. Hours/Shift/Schedules are subject to change

Education/Skills required:

• High School Graduation or equivalent and completion of a business school course.


• Training in PC based automated word processing systems, pc or mainframe-based database management programs.


• Knowledge of medical or equally complex terminology.


• Three (3) years secretarial experience preferred
