ORR approved additional pay of $5 per hour through 9/30/2021 or until funds are no longer available. Pay rate has been adjusted to reflect this short-term pay change.






Education:
Required - High School Diploma, or, equivalent




Experience:
Required - 2 plus years of experience in janitorial or maintenance and knowledge
of chemicals and reactions, and safe and proper use of cleaning supplies and equipment.




Preferred
- 3 plus years related experience and/or training




Supervises:
None




Summary:
The custodian cleans and maintains agency buildings, grounds and equipment to ensure they are safe and operational.
To successfully perform this job, the employee may be expected to perform the following, with or without

Essential Functions:
1. Clean, sanitize and maintain buildings, and equipment in accordance with agency policies and
procedures and applicable local, state and federal rules andregulations.
2. Report all unsafe conditions to supervisory staff and suggest possible solutions tohazards
3. Meet all pre-determined deadlines required by program and federalpartners.
4. Frequently traverse from one area of the campus toanother.
5. Frequently move equipment weighing up to 100 pounds from one area of the campus to
another.
6. Communicate effectively in writing and verbally in English and Spanish

Measurable Deliverables:
1. Meet all federal and state regulatory guidelines and standards that are applicable to this
position.
2. Maintain safe and sanitized conditions in the agency buildings and equipment thatmeet
or exceed all licensing and policy requirements
3. Operate janitorial and maintenance equipment and report any malfunctioning equipment
immediately.
4. Maintain knowledge of equipment used to carry out janitorial and maintenanceduties.
5. Participate in scheduled meetings, team decisions andoperations.
6. Implement BCFS safety protocols including evacuating with children and other staff in case of
an emergency
7. Work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed and as requested by thesupervisor.
8. Maintain confidentiality in all areas of the child and programoperations.
9. Maintain BCFS HHS professional and ethical standards of conduct outlined in BCFS employee
handbook including demonstrating respect for agency staff, children, and community members
and complying with required dress code at all times.
Credentials, Skills and Abilities:
1. Maintain current licenses and certificates required for the position including, but not limited to:

2. Pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens throughout employment.
3. Provide proof of work eligibility status upon request.
4. Pass a pre-employment and biennial criminal background checks.
5. Demonstrate the ability to:
a. Respond sensitively and competently to the service population's culturaland
socio-economic characteristics
b. Work collaboratively with other staff members, service providers and
professionals
c. Communicate effectively in writing and verbally in English (and Spanish
strongly preferred).
d. Read, analyze and interpret policy manuals and documents
e. Work in a fast paced environment and maintain emotional control and
professional composure at all times
f. Maintain computer literacy required to meet responsibilities of theposition.
g. Organize and plan work.
h. Work effectively and without intensive supervision both independently and as
a member of a multidisciplinary team
6. Demonstrate a working knowledge of Residential Services policies andprocedures.
