Our partnership with the St. Louis Internship Program (SLIP) is a key strategic relationship and foundational to (i) further Cushman & Wakefield's investment in the St. Louis community by specifically providing mentorship to SLIP interns, (ii) help enhance, develop and grow the diversity of the workforce within our community and (iii) provide our community interns with the necessary education, professional etiquette, communication skills and real world training to further their professional career development.
Our SLIP Summer Interns will be paid hourly and work up to 40 hours per week during this program (Interns are not permitted to work over-time). Interns will act as a part of the service line team learning and engaging each step of the way. You will gain knowledge of commercial industry terms, laws and regulations, processes and market trends, taking your experience and knowledge back to share with your classmates and organization.
This internship is a full-time opportunity tailored to introduce SLIP interns to commercial real estate. Our 8-week summer internship program offers experience in all aspects of our Portfolio Services Center (PSC), giving students a broad perspective on the industry. Interns will have hands-on experience working on key projects, interfacing with our C&W team members, and learning the day-to-day business functions and decision-making of the organization. The internship will run from June, 2021 through August, 2021. During this period, interns will complete a rotation to gain exposure to several aspects of the PSC including Transaction Management, Facilities Management, Lease Administration, Project Management, and Business Development.
Job Description
General Responsibilities of SLIP Interns (with oversight of C&W mentor):
Gather information, conduct research and analyze data to in order to have a basic understanding of our business
Assist the business teams and accounts in the execution of their daily tasks
Support day-to-day requests and tasks, provide information and help team members with client-related issues that arise
Gain a general understanding and help team members deliver through established processes, systems and procedures ensuring work standards and requirements are met
Learn and develop professional etiquette and communication through on the job training and observation
Gain an understanding of how our team members review, reconcile, and resolve client issues
Learn how to track project timelines
Learn how to generate monthly reports
Assist team members with department objectives and goals
Qualifications and Required Skills:
16 years old
Minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA
Legal authorization to work in U.S. (Visa sponsorship unavailable for this position)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proven record of providing excellent customer service
A self-starter, who is reliable, and gets things done as efficiently as possible
Detail-oriented while also being able to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to work individually as well as a team player
Ability to work remotely as part of the hybrid office schedule
