II-VI Aerospace & Defense designs, manufactures, assembles and tests precision optical systems and components. Our products have been deployed on military platforms such as submarines, tanks, missiles, fighter jets and UAV's. Basic Job Function:

Prepare journal entries and schedules to assist with the monthly closing process. Reconcile general/edger balance sheet accounts. Provide department managers with data regarding department activity and performance against budget.

Job Requirements:

Education:

B.S. Degree with a major in Accounting

Work Experience:

Two years public accounting auditing experience, or Two years Staff Accountant experience in a 1 00+ employee manufacturing environment, or four years accounting experience.

Skills/Knowledge:

Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency, including complex formulas, charting, and formatting experience required.

Thorough understanding of journal entry types and requirements, account reconciliation principles, and basic accounting principles require d .

A basic understanding of internal controls required.

Ex pe rience with inventory and job cost systems preferre d .

Accountability:

Responsible for preparing and documenting journal entries, account reconciliations, and analysis schedules. Also responsible as oversight and to perform if necessary: invoicing customers and collections, posting invoices from vendors any payments to vendors, and payroll processing. For all duties above, individual is responsible for the accuracy and relevance of the data and information reported and to meet assigned reporting deadlines and to communicate any problems and proposed solutions to their supervisor for assistance.

Good Attendance is an essential function of the job as this role is depended upon to complete time sensitive tasks and to support monthly closings which may sometimes require longer than 8 hours in a workda y.
