Industrial Products Operator at II-VI Incorporated in Newark, Delaware

Job Description:

II-VI Inc's M Cubed division in Newark, DE site is looking for an Industrial Products Technician to p our molds, de-mold products, clean and assemble molds, load and unload furnaces, sand blast and prepare product for shipment. Responsible for the operation, production and routine maintenance of the furnaces. Work closely with engineers and other personnel to develop new processes and techniques.

BASIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the development of processes for prototype parts.
  • Assist in determining proper procedure and scheduling for different types of the infiltration processes.
  • Break down completed kiln runs, clearly identify part numbers and deliver to machining.
  • Prepare graphite accessory furniture as required for each run.
  • Prepare performs for infiltration.
  • Prepare molds for casting per standard work instructions.
  • Load and unload furnaces as required.
  • Clean infiltrated product using the grit blasting machines per standard work instructions.
  • Prepare parts for final shipment including potting, bonding inserts, and packaging as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate production documentation on each furnace run, and track furnace performance.
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material and report any unusual situations to appropriate supervision.
  • Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment.
  • Address all safety related issues immediately by informing the appropriate individual(s).
  • Comply with PPE requirements at all times.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Complete all other duties, as assigned.

  • EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

    • High School diploma/GED required.
    • Demonstrated ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide (i.e., proven elementary math skills).
    • Demonstrated ability to read and write using the English language (i.e., proven elementary reading and writing skills).
    • Demonstrated ability to converse and comprehend using the English language.
    • Previous forklift operator certification and experience.
    • Demonstrated ability of basic computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Office, etc.).
    • Demonstrated ability to accurately/precisely measure materials using standard weights and measures.
    • Demonstrated ability to use handheld measuring tools including, but not limited to, calipers, tape measures, etc.
    • Experience with vacuum furnace operations.
    • Experience using various hand tools and power tools.
    • Able to work effectively with minimal supervision.
    • Able to get along well with others.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Able to frequently lift/push/pull objects up to 50 pounds, repeatedly.
    • Able to sit, stand, bend, squat and walk about the facility.
    • Ability to work productively in an environment with a wide range of temperatures.
    • Able to walk/stand a minimum of eight (8) hours per day.
