Job Description:

II-VI Aerospace & Defense designs, manufactures, assembles and tests precision optical systems and components. Basic Job Function:

Candidate supports activities for thin-film-coating processes, including coating design, tooling design, process development, qualification, and process documentation. The candidate will also support on-the-floor coating operations including specification, and installation of new equipment, substrate cleaning, thin-film deposition, and characterization through either electrical or spectral metrology. The candidate will take lead in monitoring of process controls parameters, and support of preventative maintenance programs and repairs for coating equipment. Supports program management and operations personnel with technical guidance on assigned projects.

Job Requirements:

Education:

Minimum BS in engineering or related discipline, preferably in physics, optics, materials science, electrical or mechanical engineering.

Experience:

0-3 years; familiarity with thin film coating technologies and metrology preferred.

Skills/Knowledge:

Strong verbal and written communication skills to both technical and non-technical staff

Computer skills in Microsoft suite and 3D-drawing software in order to support technical reports and analytical studies. Applicable software includes MS Word, Excel, Access, Visio, CAD and/or Solidworks

Strong analytical, fault isolation, and root-cause-corrective-action (RCCA) skills. DoE and SoE experience strongly desired. Strong organizational skills and attention to details required
