Position Overview

The Software Architect owns the end-to-end design, architecture, and codebase of Epiq’s enterprise software products.

Job Responsibilities

• Work with the Product Development Team to Identify and refine system requirements


• Review and understand the business requirements and translate them into a viable implementation architecture


• Provide detailed system architecture and design documentation to ensure the solution is scalable, robust, high-performing and extensible


• Ensure systems are fault-tolerant and highly available


• Prepare implementation analysis, proof-of-concepts, cost analysis for review and decision-making


• Support performance test planning to validate the system design and architecture for scalability


• Interact with various stakeholders from the management and peer teams to provide the needed clarity on product functionality or solution design


• Define, maintain, and support development activities while adopting industry best practices and tools


• Identify risks and conduct mitigation action planning


• Review the work of other developers to ensure standards and best practices are used


• Gain in-depth knowledge of all functional workflows of the product.


• Identify flaws within the existing design in terms of performance or security and design


• Work in agile-scrum development environment to deliver incremental change to the software platform

Qualifications and Skills

• At least 10 years of Software development experience with Java


• At least 3 years of experience with Python


• At least 3 years of experience on cloud product development using AWS or Azure


• Professional experience using JavaScript, HTML and CSS.


• Should have experience working with Angular or React


• Strong knowledge on Software Design Patterns


• Experience working with ElasticSearch


• Experience working with an RDBMS as a Software Developer, such as MySQL, Oracle or MS SQL Server


• Strong knowledge of concurrent programming challenges: multi-threading, race conditions, deadlock, semaphores, etc.


• Experience with Django is a plus


• High energy, proactive and approachable personality who enjoys solving diverse problems


• Strong oral and written communication skills are a must


• Ability to positively interact with all members of development team and product teams

• Self-starter capable of working on small teams in a fast-paced environment. Excellent analytical and organizational skills; strong deductive reasoning


• Ability to multi-task and work in separate projects in a fast paced & dynamic environment and tight timelines
