Responsible for managing and directing all sales activities within the Northeast region (including Maine, New York, Massachusetts, Vermont, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Washington D.C. and West Virginia) to achieve established sales goals. Provide supervision, leadership, coaching, and training to the regional team to build sales, increase market share, and foster strong customer relationships.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide regional sales information and recommendations including strategic plans and reviews, action plans, productivity and quality standards, problem resolution, trend identification, recognition of needs for improvement, and implement change to achieve regional sales objectives
P & L responsibility for meeting regional sales financial objectives through forecasting, budget preparation, variance analysis, and corrective actions
Establish sales objectives for each territory within the region to meet business objectives
Maintain and expand customer base by counseling sales representatives on building and maintaining key customer relationships and identifying new customer opportunities
Cultivate and maintain regional DSO relationships
Recommend new product lines or enhancements to current product lines including product packaging, fees, etc.
Monitor customer needs and trends and track competitors
Maintain and grow a small territory of accounts so that strategy, market conditions, and competitive activities are encountered first hand
Provide all aspects of supervision to direct reports to maintain a strong group of sales professionals
Perform additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university and one to three years of related sales experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Previous experience managing direct reports
Previous experience in the dental industry is preferred
Ability to manage multiple projects with varying priority at one time to deliver results
Ability to build strong relationships with customers and sales team
Strong presentation and negotiation skills
Ability to motivate sales team
Must be willing to travel frequently including overnight stays
Must have a valid driver's license with clean driving record
