Description

The Librarian reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

This position delivers library services to employees across the healthcare system and requires strong customer service orientation, attention to detail and ability to work independently. As a part of the library services team, the librarian collaborates with clinical partners to facilitate access to library resources in support organizational priorities, including research and evidence-based practice.

Responsibilities:

• Perform literature searches using Ovid, PubMed, CINAHL, and other databases for nurses, physicians, allied health professionals and health care administrators.


• Complete document delivery requests for staff.


• Fill and request interlibrary loans via Docline and OCLC.


• Develop and deliver library instructional services in group and individual settings.


• Create, distribute and manage eTable of Contents/SDI services.


• Assist with maintenance of library intranet portal.


• Assist with collection development and cataloging for small print collection as needed.

Qualifications

Required:

• Master's degree from an accredited Library/Information Science program.


• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a professional librarian role.


• Familiarity with medical/health terminology, MeSH


• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Teams, Powerpoint).

Preferred:

• Experience with content editing software and integrated library systems.


• Understanding of evidence-based practice concepts.


• Previous work experience in a medical/healthcare library setting.
