The Precision Meso-scale Technology Center (PMTC) located on Keysight's campus in Santa Rosa, CA exists to provide high precision mechanical solutions that enable the capabilities of Keysight's industry leading electronic measurement equipment. As a manufacturing engineer you will design, develop and sustain manufacturing processes as required. Working closely with R&D on microwave and mm wave applications, you will provide DFM consultation on designs facilitating their release into manufacturing by designing processes, tooling and fixturing.


Responsibilities and Duties:


As a manufacturing engineer your duties will include but are not limited to:



* Knowing and following internal Design Control procedures and all applicable guidelines when working with metal deposition processes that manufacture precision components

* Manufacturing process design and development, including machine selection and location, required fixtures and tooling.

* Create and maintain process specifications, manufacturing department layouts (2D CAD), routings, and manufacturing work instructions as well as the creation of specification documents.

* Providing DFM on new product designs

* Define and maintain critical control parameters for Statistical Process Control processes.

* Estimate cycle times, labor requirements and process costs through the use of time studies or other data-driven estimation techniques.

* Coordinate validation and pre-production runs for new product releases.

* Evaluation of product issues and defects based on customer or manufacturing complaints. Identify root cause, develop and implement process-related corrective action plans per local quality standards.

* Seek out and recommend improvements to existing processes for quality, cost or functionality.

* Create and maintain chemical tanks following internal and external safety protocol.

* Capital Equipment investigations and acquisitions

* Leads development projects requiring coordination with other functions, suppliers

* Solves a broad range of problems varying in scope and complexity


Job Qualifications and Skills


This role requires a combination of technical knowledge of engineering theory and hands on approach to manufacturing.

Qualifications:

* Bachelors, Masters or PhD in chemical engineering or applicable sciences

Required Skills:

* Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in engineering or other sciences

* 3-5 years of progressive experience in manufacturing and/or engineering

* Appropriate combination of education and experience may also be acceptable

* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)

* Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T and engineering drawings

* Problem solving/analysis

* Technical capacity including decision making, communication and reporting

* Project management experience a plus

* Strong interpersonal communication skill set

* Organizational skills
