Nice-Pak Products, Inc. (NP) is the global developer, manufacturer and marketer of pre-moistened wipes for the consumer market, specializing in personal care, hygiene, household cleaning and disinfection products. We have several locations across the US and are looking for new Associates to join our team!


POSITION PURPOSE:


This is a 12 hour rotating shift, working 5:45 pm - 6 am, on a 2-2-3 schedule.


This is a safety sensitive position. This position has the primary responsibility for supporting the daily production results for their assigned area or Value Stream. This includes meeting targeted objectives in the areas of safety, quality, service, communication, OEE, continuous improvement, and waste control of the value stream to which they are assigned. As part of this responsibility the incumbent is responsible for directing staff in the performance of their job tasks and responsibilities. This position is responsible to plan, guide, coordinate and communicate all manufacturing related issues in accordance with SOP's and cGMP's in order to achieve value stream performance objectives. Support training and development of Associates in their value stream. Ensure that all required operator certifications are complete and current.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES




  1. Facilitate consistency and continuous improvement initiatives across all shifts within the value stream.

  2. Provide leadership in Safety, Quality, and Service through the use of continuous improvement in their assigned value stream. Ensure all line personnel perform their jobs in a safe manner complying with company safety standards and rules. Take immediate corrective action when necessary. Assist in making sure all near misses are reported and investigated

  3. Ensure the line speed is set at the targeted rate. Identify and resolve quality defects, machine efficiency losses, material problems, etc.

  4. Provide productive direction to line personnel during equipment downtime, machine cleanings, changeovers etc. Perform changeover preparations far enough in advance to ensure a successful changeover

  5. Direct and assist line personnel in the urgent response to all issues creating machine downtime and coordinate the necessary resources to minimize the downtime.

  6. Ensure raw materials are adequately stocked on the production line

  7. Make changeover and code change preparations prior to line shut down. Ensure line personnel have been instructed in and understand the job specifications for products being manufactured. Check to make sure they are followed.

  8. Communicate downtime issues to Maintenance, Supervision/Management.

  9. Utilize the appropriate support personnel to resolve issues effectively and efficiently

  10. Ensure all team members are trained to perform the job function for which they are assigned and have signed off on the most current procedures. Ensure all team members can effectively perform all necessary product assembly, quality, safety, and material control functions including accurate preparation of daily reports.

  11. Assist the Supervisor in developing, training, and mentoring Associates through regular feedback, participate in group decision-making, foster open communications, and assist in setting priorities.

  12. Ensure compliance to company policies, cGMP's and SOP's. Maintain high levels of cGMP compliance and expect that all 5s principles are followed including material flow and min/max expectations. Ensure 5s audits are conducted and results posted

  13. Ensure the accurate completion of required documentation and per prescribed SOP's and cGMP's including a review of accuracy prior to submitting to QA

  14. Provide support in the documentation of production results and shift performance including the collection of waste numbers.

  15. Assist in non-conformance investigations/CAPA for finished goods, raw material, and customer complaints.

  16. Communicate all production issues to Value Stream Technical Lead, Value Stream Supervisor and/or Value Stream Leader.

  17. Lead and facilitate line level team meetings using specific subject agendas to inform line personnel of upcoming changeovers, job specifications, daily production goals, etc.

  18. In conjunction with Supervisor and/or Value Stream Leader address performance and/or job related behavior issues.

  19. Categorize line problems and differentiate between mechanical problems, material problems, and/or operational problems and ensure that these issues are resolved in a timely manner.

  20. Guide and assist line personnel in the urgent response to all issues creating machine downtime bringing to bear the necessary resources to minimize the downtime.

  21. Assist line personnel when necessary to maximize line performance.

  22. Ensure accuracy of department production reporting. Verify daily/weekly results and communicate to all associates.

  23. Provide support in the absence of the Value stream Leader and/or supervisor.

  24. Communicate urgent job scheduling issues with the Scheduling Department.

  25. Investigate and report all accidents and near misses that occur on the line.

  26. Other duties as assigned.



Additional Line Activities




  1. Know or learn how to program video jets and case printers

  2. Assist line personnel with label, towel, and web/pilfer setup, rethread and changes, as needed

  3. Relieve line personnel for breaks and lunch.

  4. Assist Operators in performing liquid changes, code changes, and changeovers

  5. Capable to perform machine operator functions when required.


























EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:



* High School Diploma or GED; College degree within a technical discipline preferred


* Associates degree in business or Engineering Technology preferred.



REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:



* Read, write and speak English.


* Basic math skills.


* General understanding of manufacturing principles.


* Skilled in the use of PC's including supporting software such as excel, word, and other data base programs.


* Displayed leadership skills, influence skills, team leadership, and ability to self-generate improvement ideas.



EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:



* 2-3 years machine operator experience.


* 2+ years leadership experience preferred


* Working in a medical device and/or OTC drug-manufacturing environment is highly desirable.



SKILLS/ABILITIES:



* Possess good communication skills, both written and verbal


* Handles conflicts in professional manner


* Willing to work overtime and weekends as required


* Willing to train on CGMP requirements and company policies and procedures
