About The Position

The Manager, Digital Workspace Operations, manages the technical operation team responsible for delivery and support of the workspace operations portfolio including Windows and MacOS operating systems; endpoint configuration, security compliance and management; virtual endpoints and applications, software packaging and deployments, mobile device management and other end user compute technologies and platforms. This role has direct responsibility for coworker leadership, partnership with architecture, cyber and other Digital teams, plus budget/forecasting compliance driving towards a seamless coworker experience.

Key responsibilities include:


  • Manages, leads and develops a team of experienced digital professionals that provide technical operating expertise to implement and operate enterprise-wide digital end user technology for enablement of our workforce and targeted partners/consultants.

  • Direct, train and evaluate personnel responsible for implementing and supporting solutions that operate the client-side environment that enables Ameren to meet industry best practices for device management and security.

  • Direct, train and evaluate personnel responsible for developing standards for operating systems, virtualization, and other emerging technologies to enhance a seamless coworker experience.

  • Designs process changes and utilizes automation and/or shift-left whenever possible to continually improve the workspace operations portfolio of operation services.

  • Ensures adherence to architectural standards for enterprise client applications, mobile devices, printers, and end-user devices to ensure a seamless coworker experience while focusing on customer affordability.

  • Maintains a working knowledge of Ameren core business applications, processes and requirements to allow for the effective application of emerging technologies to resolve business problems and gain productivity. Work directly with enterprise coworkers, at all levels of the organization, to ensure coworkers are digitally enabled at all times.

  • Remains abreast of new developments and trends in the digital industry to maintain professional expertise to assist in technology planning and influence the technology standards used by the company.

  • Develops and maintains a thorough understanding of Digital budgeting and forecasting processes in order to effectively manage area of responsibility.

  • Collaborates effectively with peers across the Digital function, all other areas of the business, and managed service vendors. Works across the enterprise at all levels.

  • Develops, maintains and manages on-going metrics for the relevant Digital resources in order to qualify and quantify success and value to the business.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information System, Business Administration, or equivalent computer related degree from an accredited college or university required.

  • Five or more years of related IT experience with extensive background in one or more of the following IT disciplines: Operations, Infrastructure, Security, Service Management, or IT Project Management required.

  • Proven track record of delivering or supporting IT services in a diverse environment with a focus on automation and process improvements required.

  • Experience with system configuration management and information technology service management tools required.

  • Three or more years of supervisory or high-level team/project leadership preferred.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills preferred.

  • Proven effective management and leadership skills in a flexible, creative and team-oriented performance driven environment.

  • Ability to facilitate relations between business groups and technology departments.

  • Strong facilitation skills as well as the ability to work with team members, providing assistance and guidance as needed.

  • Ability to recognize, drive, and deliver opportunities for process improvement, with a focus on automation.

  • Must be able to communicate effectively both with technical personnel and senior leaders.

Additional Information

The manager works a standard day-shift in an office environment but may also need to work off-hours for project needs, upgrades, outages or system implementations.

Ameren's selection process includes a series of interviews and may include a leadership assessment process. Specific details will be provided to qualified candidates.
