The Herman Miller Group Technology Team is building a customer-centric, digitally enabled business model to reshape the way our family of brands does business. We're driving new revenue growth and creating frictionless internal processes through our innovative technology solutions, and we need an IT Senior Developer to help us get there!

We have an open position for an experienced, highly motivated, and self-organizing full-stack IT Senior Developer for one of our industry leading dealer products. The position requires strong technical and communication skills and a track record of developing successful technology products. This role includes all aspects of the solution development lifecycle in the delivery of cloud native solutions that delight our Herman Miller dealers.

Inside the Job

Your day-to-day work will involve:


  • Working with the product owner to define technical solutions that solve business problems and achieve business outcomes.

  • Performing full stack development on customer facing front end, API end points, backend databases, and the CI/CD pipeline to support the solutions

  • Continuously improving our agile software delivery process

  • Integrating product solutions into our dealer IT ecosystem

What You Bring

Needed skills and experience for this role include:


  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems, or equivalent work experience

  • Four years of experience with full-cycle application development

  • Experience working in Agile in close collaboration with Product Owners\Business Analysts\Product Leads to establish and maintain sprint and release cadence

  • Experience building solutions in the Cloud

  • Proficiency in web development using Angular or equivalent web framework

  • Proficiency in CSS, LESS, SASS, or equivalent styling language

  • Experience building and consuming Restful APIs in C#

  • Experience connecting to databases (RDBMS, NoSQL)

  • Understanding of best practices with distributed, team-based development

  • Understanding of CI/CD

  • Comprehension of object-oriented concepts, design patterns, and best practices

  • Understanding of cloud, software, and database architecture

  • Desired skills: Understanding of state management using ngrx, or equivalent; experience with Angular Material design components; knowledge of AWS, or equivalent cloud experience; experience using Git, or equivalent version control system

  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills with ability to communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical professionals at all levels of the organization

  • A passion for learning

  • Open to exploring new ideas

  • Understanding of fail fast concepts respecting agility

  • Team player
