Job Description:

Today, Replacement Parts, Inc./ Crow Burlingame is made up of a corporate staff and several different companies that employ over 1,300 employees, in seven (13) states, working at approximately 200 locations, all operating in the aftermarket automotive parts, paint and heavy duty parts business.  In 2019, our company will celebrate 100 years as a privately held business with most of our employees spending the majority of their working lives as part of the" Bumper to Bumper" family.

 The Shipping Supervisor will train in all aspects of overseeing the day-to-day operations of the shipping department and will learn to set both long and short-term goals for the distribution of automotive parts and overall operations of the automotive distribution warehouse.

You will be trained in all major areas of the DC Departments listed below as well as all areas listed in Essential Functions.


  • Order Fill

    • Order Fill Routes/Lines Release schedules

    • Order Fill Productivity Standards

    • All other areas in this dept. not listed


  • Shipping

    • Shipping Lane Release Schedules

    • Shipping consolidation

    • Pallet Tag/Bulk Tag/Container Tag usage

    • Truck Loading

    • EOD Close out

    • All other areas in this dept. not listed


  • Receiving

    • ASN New Incoming Stock

    • Stock Batch and Stocking procedures

    • ASN Reconciliation – JMO & Vision

    • Close out paperwork process for AP

    • All other areas in this dept. not listed

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

 Attend work every day, on time, as scheduled.


  • Adhere to and follow safety procedures i.e., safe lifting.

  • Demonstrate courteous, respectful, cooperative and kind conduct toward every employee and customer.

  • Supervise and assist warehouse management and supervisory staff.  

  • Insure the day-to-day business in the shipping department is conducted and completed in an efficient and effective manner that meets or exceeds Company standards.

  • Help supervise warehouse employees approximately 10 employees – including:

    • Identify training needs, train employees, and evaluate training effectiveness

    • Conducting and/or approving disciplinary actions.


  • Learn to set productivity goals and implementation plans for various projects in the department.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED). High school diploma.  Two to five years’ experience in supervision and results-oriented management of employees in an industrial, manufacturing or distribution center setting. Proven record of strong leadership, and oral and written communication skills. Experience and extensive knowledge of distribution warehouse operations and the auto parts business is strongly preferred. 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Current and valid driver’s license and clear driving record is required.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.  Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.  Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. Ability to learn and retain abbreviations.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. The ability to transcribe numbers up to 12 digits.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills

Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is required.  Experience in TPW and ADIS functions is preferred.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Employees are required to wear safety appropriate clothing in the warehouse, including close-toed shoes. Employees are not permitted to use earbuds or any other devices which interfere with their ability to hear.
