Estimating Specialist
Molex is seeking a highly self-motivated and result oriented Estimator to work in our Monee, IL location. This role will work closely with the business development, customer service, manufacturing, and engineering teams to create, develop and submit customer quotations for Molex busbar solutions.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced, business-oriented estimator with demonstrated integrity, customer focus, ability to lead challenging situations, and to embrace change. This position requires someone who is detail-oriented, can efficiently multi-task, communicates well, and able to succeed in complex interactions with internal team members and external customers.
What You Will Do In Your Role
- Create internal RFQs based on customer proposal and/or business development team information.
- Prepare quotations for new/revised/re-quotes per customer proposals, utilizing the company estimating tools, based on the relevant datasheets and/or drawings and feedback from the solution development team.
- Work directly with vendors and the purchasing group and to get material and outside service costs on the projects.
- Determine the specific materials' requirements from the project specifications and customer requirements.
- Work closely with the development team as well as the manufacturing teams to understand the cost impacts of manufacturing process, product specifications and be sure to account for them in the cost estimates.
The Experience You Will Bring
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree of Finance, Business, and/or Engineering OR equivalent experience.
- Familiarity with mechanical drawings and ability to interpret views and tolerances
What Will Put You Ahead
- 3+ years' experience in project estimating in an industrial and/or engineering environment.
- General knowledge of estimating techniques.
- Ability to align project estimates with manufacturing processes, cost control tools and practices.
- Project Management experience.
- Familiarity with busbar manufacturing techniques and processes
