EMCORE offers a broad portfolio of compound semiconductor-based products for the broadband fiber optics market. EMCORE's Fiber Optics technologies convert electrical energy into optical signals, enabling high-speed communications infrastructures. We design and manufacture optical components, subsystems and systems that enable the transmission of video, voice, and data over high-capacity fiber optic links for a wide variety of applications including Cable Television (CATV) and Fiber-To-The-Premise (FTTP) networks, Satellite & Microwave Communications, and Broadcast & Pro AV.

In addition, EMCORE provides specialty photonics technologies for Commercial, Government and Defense & Homeland Security applications. EMCORE Corporation is seeking to fill the position in the Facilities Equipment Engineer Team at our Wafer Fab facility located in Alhambra, California. This position is responsible for operating, troubleshooting and maintaining semiconductor related equipment. Interfaces with Equipment Engineers and area supervisor to identify and resolve equipment and process-related issues supporting production. Participate in the activities of the area shift pass-downs, and work with direct supervisor on setting priorities based on production requirements. A successful candidate will have the following experience/skills:
Equipment / Facilities:
Performs electrical or mechanical troubleshooting to determine problems in non-functioning electro-mechanical equipment. This may include the troubleshooting of vacuum, pneumatics, electrical or motor control systems. Dismantles, adjusts, repairs and assembles equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, operating or repair manuals, rough sketches or drawings. Uses test and diagnostic equipment to perform specified tasks. Rebuilds manufacturing equipment as required. May perform equipment modifications as directed by manufacturing engineers.
EH&S:
Will be part of the Emergency response team (ERT) and ERT first responder group. Will be required to work flexible hours if needed and respond to off-hours emergencies as directed. Works from written and verbal instructions. Removes and disposes of waste chemicals, solvents and acids. May provide clean up of chemical spills as directed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Monitor environmental standards for clean room operation and certification, e.g., temperature, humidity, particles
* Ability to perform facility equipment operational and preventive maintenance procedures, routine handling, storage, delivery, tracking and disposal of chemicals, gases and hazardous waste
* Assist with implementation and utilization of the maintenance procedures
* Respond to customer service requests
* May conduct routine safety inspections
* Support production equipment installation
* Assist in development of new equipment and project specifications
* Maintain facility data collection requirements, documents, records and procedures
* Identifies nonconformances when they occur and participates in finding the solution to the nonconformance
* Enforces good housekeeping practices in order to maintain clean and efficient working environments
* Deploys the Quality Management System as it applies to the scope of work
* Other duties as assigned
PREFERRED EDUCATION
* Associates or equivalent vocational school. Combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
* Must have great attention to details and good organization skills as well as a high level of initiative and the ability
to work independently
* Must have good skills in Excel, Word, Microsoft Office
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* 3-5 years of Equipment Repair in the semiconductor field.
