What You'll Do
About The Role:
The Supply Scheduler is responsible for sourcing, procurement, and distributing designated commodities for manufacturing and customer service. This includes creating purchase orders and supplier scheduling agreements and maintaining all delivery dates to sustain Precor's manufacturing and sales requirements. The purchased materials include finished goods, sub-assemblies, raw materials, products manufactured in Precor's facilities, and those purchased from external suppliers. The candidate in this position will be a crucial member of company-wide cost reduction & process efficiency.
Precor's global customers need a supply chain that is predictable and accountable for results. Supplier Scheduling is a critical part of Precor's ability to schedule manufacturing labor and machinery utilization. Ultimately, our ability to promise inventory to customers hinges on our ability to obtain an adequate supply. The Supplier Scheduler looks for ways to solve supply chain issues that impact the company's ability to deliver its products on-time and in full. The Supplier Scheduler may be asked to engage in special projects as assigned.
The Supplier Scheduler reports to the Supplier Scheduling Manager and should require minimal supervision. The position involves a high degree of interaction with Manufacturing, Sales, Accounting, Purchasing, Engineering, and other company departments and requires a solid ability to exercise independent judgment.
What You Will Be Responsible For: Supplier Scheduling Execution, and Supplier Scheduling Scorecard
* Work with Production Supervisors and Master Scheduling to ensure that changes in production schedules are clear-to-build before production orders are released to the floor
* Ensure that production is not stopped or forced to reschedule due to a shortage of raw materials
* Review SAP Scheduling Agreements for record accuracy and completeness
* Create and maintain purchase orders required to support ongoing business activities, including Scheduling Agreements, discrete purchase orders, tooling and sub-contract purchase orders
* Maintain purchase orders for both domestic and international vendors
* Monitor and adjust delivery Lines of Scheduling Agreements as needed
* Manage the submission of demand documents to established vendors
* Engage in structured, weekly collaboration with Vendors to get the material delivered Just-In-Time (on time and in full)
* Obtain confirmations of supply from established vendors (including quantities and dates)
* Provide long term demand forecasts to suppliers
* Identify inconsistencies in purchasing documents and work to resolve issues with purchasing records, supplier shipping confirmations, and material invoices
* Partner with Production Supervisors and Supply Planners to set desired levels of Kanban/e-ban/VMI materials
* Ensure that Kanban levels are being checked at appropriate intervals
* Support Engineering Change Notification process with material transitions
* Utilize efficiency in workload by consolidating work into batch requests, including purchase orders submissions for batches of vendors, obtaining supplier confirmations, investigating potential future material shortages, and reconciling invoice/purchase order/shipping document inconsistencies
* Follow company policies and procedures related to Sarbanes Oxley and LEAP accounting practices
* Participate in continuous improvement on key performance indicators aligned with senior leadership's priorities
* Seek opportunities to grow your skills and product knowledge, ability to use tools,
* Enhance your communication skills and ability to collaborate with others
* Provide materials to Schedules, and participate in periodic supply review meetings (minimum frequency = monthly)
* Work with Master Data, SAP configuration, and other departments to drive the implementation of Scheduling Agreements in SAP
* Assist Commodity Managers with supplier scorecard preparation and participate in quarterly supplier business reviews
* SAP Responsibilities - monitor and support master data integrity of fields supporting Purchasing functions in SAP including Master Material Data, Info Records, Source Lists
* Special projects and reporting may be assigned when needed
