Roundup Fellowship serves children with intellectual/developmental disabilities and co-occurring mental health/behavioral challenges through our Group Homes, Day Treatment, and Facility School. We serve adults in our Community Connections program and Specialized Habilitation in Colorado Springs.

Job Summary:                

This person stays awake at night and is responsible for knowing all clients’ whereabouts at all times.  This person assists residents with their morning routines including bathing, dressing, and toileting, and helps residents who exhibit challenging behaviors. This person documents programs, behavior charts, log notes, and overnight supervision notes.  This person ensures residents are ready for their day program including proper clothing, hygiene, nutrition, and medication. This person is responsible for designated cleaning duties.

                                               

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Uphold the mission, values, policies and procedures of Roundup Fellowship.

  • Supervise residents ensuring their safety and whereabouts.

  • Assist residents to complete morning routines and programs.

  • Intervene in behavior management as indicated in individual crisis intervention and behavior modification programs. 

  • Maintain professional communication with supervisors, other team members, family members, schools, therapists, and other professionals or significant others.

  • Complete appropriate documentation including log notes, program data, overnight checklists, and incident reports.

  • Ensure residents are prepared for their day program including proper hygiene, clothing, medication, breakfast, lunch, and any required communication systems.

  • Complete overnight cleaning duties to ensure a safe and healthy environment.

  • Participate in meetings and training as scheduled or requested by supervisor.

  • Administer medication as prescribed following proper procedures.

  • Participate in the organizations CQI process.

  • Provide feedback to the management team when there are concerns about policies and procedures potentially re-traumatizing clients.

  • Responsible for supporting and maintaining a physically and psychologically safe environment.

  • Uphold principles of the trauma informed principles of Roundup Fellowship.

  • Participate in training and events that specifically address the intersection of trauma with culture, history, race, gender, location, and language.

  • Recognize the impact of vicarious trauma on the workforce and continually assess in supervision signs and symptoms of vicarious trauma as well as self-care plans.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Minimum age of 21.

  • High school graduate (or equivalent) with one year experience in human services OR  Two years of college level course work.

  • Ability to read, write, and speak the English language for required paperwork, testing, and professional communication.

  • Colorado Driver’s license and the ability to drive a 10 passenger vehicle.

  • Satisfactory Central Registry and CBI record check.

  • Must be able to resolve problems, handle conflict, and make effective decisions under pressure while dealing with a variety of emotions and frustrations.

  • Requires scheduling flexibility.

  • Ability to work as a team member.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with respect and tact in order to give, receive, and analyze information, formulate plans, prepare materials.

  • Must be able to stay awake all night.

Physical and Mental Demands:


  • Requires sufficient range of physical strength, endurance, and mobility to assist in personal care of residents, household activities and behavioral interventions.

  • Requires adequate range of hearing and vision to properly supervise residents.

  • Requires mental flexibility, emotional stability, personal maturity, and creativity in dealing with difficult situations.

  • Requires staying awake all night to supervise residents.
