What you will do?

Parker, Fluid Controls Division (FCD) is looking for a creative Design Engineer to help design, develop and integrate the next level of fluid control devices used with today's Alternative Engine Fuels, such as CNG (Compressed Natural Gas), LPG (Liquified Natural Gas) and the next generation of FCEV (Fuel Cell Electric) and H2 (Hydrogen) fueled Heavy Duty vehicles.

Focusing on New Product development activities within the Parker Fluid Controls Division, you will work in partnership with Sales, Product Management and OEM's in the design and development of Fluid Control products and systems used in the transportation market, i.e. Trucks, Busses, Trains and Off Highway Vehicles.

Our Design Engineers are actively engaged in every phase of a project, from early VOC with the customer, through concepting, detailed design, sample development, test, validation and launch.

- Applies engineering principles and techniques to develop solutions per OEM opportunities using a variety of engineering tools.
- Assesses the feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering tasks, creates an execution plan for completion of tasks, and tracks progress as required.
- Incorporates CAD modeling of electromechanical assemblies to support the release of new designs.
- Proactively communicates with the engineering team and supervisor regarding tasking, progress and development challenges.
- Interacts with other engineering team members for resolving technical issues.
- Manages the release of engineering documentation, drawings, assembly procedures, etc.
- Validate designs and ensure OEM product specific requirements are achieved through experimentation or sample/prototype development.
- Support the builds of engineering, manufacturing and pilot lots to ensure that the products are assembled and tested in the correct way to ensure long term product quality.
- Develop test plans, create DV plans and ensure DFM capability for newly developed products.
- Participate in customer meetings as key technical lead per assigned project with OEM.

To be Successful in this role you will:

- Have a Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university or college.
- 3-5 years of industry experience related to product design and development.
- Have experience in valve design (preferred but not mandatory).
- Experience working with Auto-Cad Inventor, SolidWorks, FEA and/or CFD.
- Have ability to document, plan, and execute programs using Winovation software and Milestone processes.
- Hands-on concept development and good mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to be a team player as well as an independent contributor.
- Proficient with Microsoft family of products, including Microsoft Project.
- Ability to travel - up to 15%.
