Job Description:

The Plant Lean Expert (PLE) will be a resource of lean expertise for the manufacturing site and will lead continuous improvement processes through design and implementation using cross-functional teams.

Job Responsibilities:

• Prepares, executes, revises and measures progress on the Site Continuous Improvement Plan

• Facilitates the use of Continuous Improvement tools; engages, coaches, and trains Employee Involvement teams throughout the site

• Identifies opportunities to implement common processes and best practices from other sites and businesses

• Manages various plant lean initiatives (such as DOM, Flow, E.I. and Six Sigma)

• Plans, facilitates, and supports all plant Kaizen events

• Implement tools and controls to sustain improvements.

• Develops and maintains communication around the CI goals and achievements

• Coaches and assists all Greenbelt projects

• Ensure compliance with all Environmental, Health, and Safety Programs

• Minimum 3 yrs manufacturing experience

• Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed

• Ability to travel 15-20% of the time

• Ability to walk; stand; bend, stoop; sit for extended periods (up to 75% of working time); use hands to finger, feel, or reach; and speak and hear

• Ability to use close-up vision and focus

• Ability to lift up to 40-pounds

• Ability to read and interpret work instructions, drawings, and/or other diagrams

• Ability to effectively create presentations and present information

• High level of understanding in Lean Production Tools such as: Kanban, Line Balancing, VSM, Quick Change Over, Time Standards, TOC, SMED, 5S, POKA YOKE, JIT, TPS.

• Proficiency in computer software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Mini tab, Visio, and Project manager

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• 2-yr college degree preferred

High school diploma or equivalent required

• Yellow Belt and Green Belt preferred
