Job Summary


The Lead Medical Assistant is responsible for all the duties required of the Certified Medical Assistant. In addition the Lead Medical Assistant oversees and assists with supervising the other certified medical assistants and procedures for all of the programs and services provided in the Primary Care Center. Ensures that the staff is trained and maintains hospital's standards for service excellence.


Job Responsibilities



  • Oversees and supervises the medical assistant staff and their work flow

  • Supports Site Leadership in creating and helping to monitor performance indicators

  • Acts as liaison between site leadership, providers, other clinical staff and the medical assistants

  • Oversee daily clinic functions and assist with issues that arise during office hours

  • Acts as primary preceptor for new MA staff

Required Licenses, Certifications, Registrations


AAMA (CMA), American Medical Technologist (RMA), National Center for Competency: National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), or National Allied Health Test Registry: Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA)Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification or obtained within three (3) months of placement into position.

Required Education and Experience


Required Education: High school diploma / GED. Graduate of a Medical Assistant program.

Required Experience: One (1) year of work experience


Preferred Education, Experience & Cert/Lic


Preferred Experience:


  • Three (3) years related healthcare experience

  • Previous customer service background


Additional Technical Requirements
