Overall Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities:


  • Analyze large-scale power systems for major utilities, regional operators

  • Model and analyze with industry-standard software, such as PSCAD, PSS/E, PSLF, ProMOD, CYME or equivalent software

  • Manage and lead strategic studies, such as renewable import studies, transmission upgrade studies, transmission assessments, integrated resource plans, or similar

  • Write and edit major reports for client executive management teams

  • Present and communicate effectively with the client's senior managers

  • Present and participate in external stakeholders / public to defend the studies

  • Able to complete projects on time and within budget

  • Interact with senior management, clients and contractors

  • Prepare proposals and cost estimates for projects

  • Grow business through project work and client relationships

  • Coordinate with business development in pursuing new opportunities

  • Publish conference papers and presentations


Qualifications:


  • A bachelors' degree in electrical engineering (Master's and/or MBA preferred)

  • 3+ years' experience in in the utility industry

  • Experience with industry-standard software, such as PSCAD, PSS/E, PSLF, ProMOD, CYME or equivalent software

  • PE / PEng registration or the ability to be registered in the U.S.

  • A proven track record and innovative approach to engineering solutions providing leadership for mentoring and coaching a team

  • Knowledge of ANSI / NERC standards and interpretation for compliance

  • Strong leadership, time management, organizational and communication skills are essential

  • 30-60% Travel may be required to ensure the successful execution of projects

  • Exhibit thorough understanding of governing regulations and industry practices
