hardison/downey is seeking a Plumber Apprentice with a minimum of 2 years' experience to join our team!

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, and repair pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, and drainage systems according to specifications and plumbing codes.


• Ability to read and decipher building plans and working drawings to determine components and equipment required as well as sequence of events.


• Assembles and installs valves, pipe fittings, and pipes composed of metals, clay, and plastic using hand and power tools.


• Installs and repairs plumbing fixtures, such as sinks, showers, commodes, water heaters, hot water tanks, garbage disposals and dishwashers.


• Troubleshoot and repair plumbing systems, fixtures, piping, drains, and valves.


• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma.


• 2 years of experience in profession/industry.

Work Environment

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently inspects the project and may be exposed to ongoing construction and various weather conditions, while wearing personal protective equipment.


• The noise level in the work environment may range from moderate to loud.


• This position is performed in outside weather conditions.

Physical Requirements

• While performing the duties of this job, the position is very active and the employee is frequently standing, walking, reaching, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, digging, trenching and climbing throughout day.


• The employee must frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds.


• Operating heavy equipment and hand tools.


• Reading and communicating plans.

Travel Requirement

• Travel may be required more than 50% of the time.


• Valid Motor Vehicle Record with no restrictions or suspensions.


• Ability to drive a motorized vehicle.
