The position is responsible for the capital investments, maintenance (mechanical, electrical, and facilities) of equipment and plant to ensure a safe and reliable work environment. Supervise Maintenance Technicians, Automation Specialist, and project and maintenance contract personnel. The position is based at the Coatex Plant in Chester, South Carolina.
Key Activities & Responsibilities
Provide engineering, mechanical, electrical, and technical resources. Provide training for maintenance personnel. Ensure department adherence to all safety and other procedures.
Supervise, manage and direct the daily activities of maintenance personnel; reassign resources to respond to changing priorities.
Inspect, install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair plant equipment with independent judgment.
Ensure proper installation of equipment per manufacturer recommendations, engineering specification, site needs, and/or past performance requirements.
Design, coordinate, and manage preventative maintenance programs and mechanical integrity program.
Operate and maintain SAP maintenance management system for the site.
Lead and coordinate the plant's Risk Management Program (RMP) with assistance from other staff members.
Provide field management for plant process improvements and new construction, including, but not limited to mechanical, electrical and civil work. Make design recommendations, and recommend contractors.
Regularly communicate with other departments, in written, electronic, and/or verbal form, on the status of maintenance and other projects, scheduled completion time, and need for assistance.
Understand plant environmental health and safety regulations and comply with all applicable laws and regulatory requirements.
Serve as site contact for corporate improvement projects including OPTIMO, ARKENERGY, Digital Manufacturing, etc.
Manage the maintenance budget, and provide input for annual approval.
Provide input to and maintain the long-range site and capital investment plan up to date.

Job Requirements
Minimum a BS degree in Chemical Engineering, plus at least 5 years of industrial maintenance/engineering experience.
Must have a high level of mechanical aptitude.
Competence and knowledge in electrical devices, maintenance, and process control instrumentation is highly desirable.
Proven analytical and problem solving abilities. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Must be able to read electrical and mechanical drawings (both blueprints and assembly type).
Leadership skills and ability to manage and direct teams.
