SUMMARY:

Under general supervision of the Warehouse Supervisor, the Leadsupports functional areas of the warehouse such as receiving, replenishment, shipping, and or returns in order to ensure timely and accurate receipt of inventory timely and accurate delivery of inventory accurate picking and packing of product and overseeing the verification and record keeping of outgoing shipments of controlled substances to customers. Ensures proper packing procedures for all outbound shipments and provides direction to warehouse associates.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Monitors loading and receiving activities and makes appropriate changes, ensuring compliance with Free Trade Zone (FTZ).

  • Routinely informs and communicates with employees to ensure compliance with established warehouse productivity, and safety policies and procedures.

  • Monitors and completes numerous computer-based and manual reports and related paperwork, including time records, daily logs, damage reports, etc.

  • Supervises up to 25 hourly associates as well as up to 15 temporary employees.

  • Leads and controls activities of warehouse personnel.

  • Directs work related to receipt, shipment, storage, distribution or delivery of products.

  • Makes sure all employees are trained and follow established related Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).

  • Monitors employees productivity and efficiency via the Labor Management System.

  • Interprets warehouse operations anomalies and identify appropriate solutions.

  • Works effectively in a fast paced distribution center environment, with a focus on high levels of quality and customer service.

  • Contributes cost saving ideas and process improvements on a continuous basis.

  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/SKILLS:


  • 2+ years of relevant experience in a distribution center environment and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • AA degree from an accredited vocational, technical, or junior college institution preferred.

  • Forklift instructor certification preferred.

  • Ability to communicate in English and Spanish a plus preferred.

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.

  • Required to work Overtime and or Weekends as needed.

  • Prior experience with the implementation of a new WMS preferred.

  • Knowledge of Distribution operations (material handling equipment) and merchandise flow.

  • Strong leadership abilities.

  • Good communication skills both verbally and written including the ability to communicate with all levels of management.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Strong coaching and administrative skills.

  • Ability to prioritize work based on delivery schedule.

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Access) WMS, and SAP or some other payroll/HR system
