Role and Responsibilities

Summary

The Project Engineer (PE) / Technical Lead: Is the lead engineering member of a proposal team. Responsible for the overall technical solution development, its compliance and its approval. This oversight includes all technical content, estimated engineering costs, and engineering proposal work products. The Tech lead will ensure that the Technical Solution has been collaboratively put together with the engineering team and that all agreements, all engineering reviews and all action items are conducted and resolved prior to entering the final review and approval cycle of the estimates and delivery timelines.

  • The PE / tech Lead, must be familiar with coordinating, and providing technical program execution authority over Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) for planning, organizing, controlling, integration, execution of, and close out activities of engineering content on a variety of flight simulator, Modeling & Simulation, proposals.

  • Responsible for managing large, complex project/proposal initiatives of strategic importance to the organization, involving both small and large cross-functional teams.

  • The PE / tech Lead performs as the technical lead over the assigned engineering team on a program / Proposal to include leading/participating in peer reviews, supporting program management proposal reviews, and coordinating technical activity amongst the program IPTs across a cross functional organization.

  • The PE /Tech lead performs budget assessments reviews with IPTs supporting proposals and is responsible for technical, cost and schedule performance for the engineering content on the proposal.

  • Communicates within and outside of the organization to include Engineering Functional management Program Management and customers or vendors.

  • The position will work closely with senior level program engineering management

  • The PE receives engineering direction from and is accountable to a Program Engineering Manager (PEM), who has overall Program Engineering responsibility for successfully proposing, developing and delivering solutions.

  • Beyond normal work functions the PE/Tech Lead supports, and searches out areas to make significant improvements of processes, systems, solutions, and/or products to enhance performance of job area.

  • Active Secret DOD security clearance required within six months of employment.

Qualifications and Education Requirements


  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Sciences

  • Minimum 9 yearsplus DOD development programexperience

  • 3+ years Engineering Lead experience in DODdevelopment government programs

  • 3+ years Experience with Clear Case, Clear Quest, DOORS,

  • Earned Value Management (EVM)

Preferred Skills


  • Advanced Master's Degree in an engineering discipline

  • 1+ years of experience within the training and simulation industry.

  • 3+ years ofexperience performing as liaison between program management, engineering management, and the technical disciplines involved in a project.

  • 3+ years of experience performing as primary technical interface with DOD customers.

  • 3+ years of experience working with Business Development to cultivate and new business opportunities

  • Familiarization with multiple development and production lifecycle approaches

  • 3+ years of experience with Leadership, Management of multi-disciplinary teams

Security Responsibilities

Must complywith all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.

  • Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.

  • Must be able to perform normal office duties (e.g.sitting for long periods at a desk)

  • Must be able to travel CONUS/OCONUS via car and airplane

  • Must be able to climb stairs to enter and exit a simulator
