SQL / Oracle Database Administrator

Position Summary:
1 Prospect Technologies, LLC is seeking a qualified SQL/Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) who provides database administration and support for standard database software, currently Microsoft SQL Server 2012/2014/2016 and Oracle 12c on Windows and Linux operating systems, for the Fort Detrick Network Enterprise Center (NEC). This includes providing technical support for the database environment including overseeing the development and organization of the databases, assessment and implementation of new technologies, and providing Information Technology with a long-term perspective on the relationship of database technology to the business opportunities facing the Fort Detrick NEC.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform local database administration for standard database software for Army Enterprise Systems.
- Check server event logs daily and resolve issues
- Perform incremental database backups and full database backups for standard databases for Army Enterprise Systems.
- Perform incremental OS backups daily. Back-ups shall be performed outside normal business hours.
- Develop, update and maintain SOP documents for tasks performed
- Maintain, monitor, backup and recover databases
- Perform ongoing tuning of the database instances
- Implement and enforce security for all of the Oracle/SQL Databases.
- Provide technical support to application development teams.
- Enforce and maintain database constraints to ensure integrity of the database.
- Troubleshoot problems regarding the databases, applications and development tools.
- Create new database users as required.
- Report IAVM compliance in the required database/systems
- Other duties as assigned
Education & Experience Requirements:
EDUCATION:
- High School graduate
EXPERIENCE:
- At least five (5) years of related work experience
- Active SECRET DoD Security Clearance
- Current CompTIA Security+ certification required
- Experience with Windows Server 2012 R2 or later
- Experience with RHEL 6.x or later
- Experience with SQL Server 2012 or later
- Experience with Oracle 12c or later
- Experience with migrating data from one environment to another, in both Oracle and SQL Server.
- Experience with using Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) or similar standards.
- Desired experience with Oracle WebLogic server configuration.
- Current SQL or Oracle certification or ability to obtain certification within 6 months of hire
- Demonstrated ability to work without direct supervision.
- Proven customer service skills.
- Ability to apply systematic/systems analysis processes and procedures to troubleshooting diagnostics.
- Advanced diagnostic skills and tools knowledge.
- Experience with BMC Remedy 8.2 or similar help desk tracking tools.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products including Access, Excel, and Word.
- Knowledge of Army IT regulations and security procedures preferred.
- Duties/responsibilities/qualifications are subject to change based on the needs of the customer.
Working Conditions/Working Environment/Physical Demands:
- Some walking and standing required. You may have to lift and carry equipment (i.e. books, tools) weighing approximately 10-15 pounds.
- Most of the work is performed indoors
- Work in the occupation involves making repetitive motions more than 1/3 of the time
- Requires standing periodically
- Must be able to stand, stoop, kneel and bend
