Job Description:

Nemours is seeking a Plant Operator (Full-Time), to join our Nemours Children's Hospital team in Orlando, Florida.

Located in Orlando, Fla., Nemours Children's Hospital is the newest addition to the Nemours integrated healthcare system. Our 100-bed pediatric hospital also features the area's only 24-hour Emergency Department designed just for kids as well as outpatient pediatric clinics including several specialties previously unavailable in the region. In keeping with our goal of bringing Nemours care into the communities we serve, we also provide specialty outpatient care in several clinics located throughout the region.

Work Schedule: Wednesdays 8:00PM-4:30AM, Thursdays 6:00PM-4:30AM, Fridays 6:00PM-4:30AM and Saturdays 4:00PM - 4:30AM.

The Plant Operator, performs regular preventive maintenance, troubleshoots, tests, and makes rounds taking regular readings on all power plant equipment and systems. • Operates and maintains boilers, chillers, generators and associated support systems.
• Monitors control screens and observes various meters and gauges to ensure equipment is operating properly.
• Starts, stops and switches over boilers as appropriate.
• Cleans and repairs boilers, blow tubes and discharge sediment, and pumping equipment.
• Starts and stops chillers to maintain set points and efficiency.
• Checks and monitors cooling towers and regulates feed water.
• Keeps appropriate logs for chemical treatment to boiler and cooling system water.
• Conducts and documents generator testing.
• Operates switchgear to regulate and transfer power loads.
• Completes assigned preventative and corrective maintenance work orders and ensures work order data is captured.
• Log all pertinent operating information and maintains records to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and Joint Commission guidelines.
• Coordinates, conducts and documents all fire and life safety measures to include inspections and testing to ensure compliance with policies.
• Able to maintain compliance with all Nemours policies and procedures.

• High School Diploma required.
• Minimum of 3 years experience required.
• Basic knowledge of the use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
