MOTLOW STATE COMMUNITY COLLEGE

Salary: $51,197.00 - $54,197

Motlow State is the fastest growing college in Tennessee. We are located in the beautiful rolling hills
of middle Tennessee and have four campuses that serve students from eleven
counties. We offer a comprehensive

availability and budget approval.

Minimum Qualifications: Master's
Degree in Counseling, Clinical Psychology or related field of study earned form
an accredited institution and two years post-degree experience and demonstrated
success in working with diverse populations including college-age populations. Must possess and
maintain a current active clinical license in the state of Tennessee in the
field such as LPC, LCSW, LMFT or related license

Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in Counseling,
Clinical Psychology or related field of study earned form an accredited
institution and three or more years post-degree experience working with a
diverse college-age population specifically in a college counseling center or in
college mental health services. At least one-year experience in marketing
mental health and wellness programs at the college level as well as
facilitating professional development opportunities. Must possess and maintain
a current active clinical license in the state of Tennessee in the field such
as LPC, LCSW, LMFT or related license.


General
Function: The Therapist serves as a counselor providing
individual and group therapy for diverse student populations and the primary
advocate for student mental health, leading efforts to assist students in
increasing self-awareness, recognizing mental health challenges, and developing
alternative strategies towards empowerment in support of Motlow State Community
College mission and Strategic Plan. The Therapist will coordinate all efforts
regarding student mental health and assume primary responsibility for the
development and implementation of a comprehensive health and wellness program
for students based on individual and campus needs and interests. Travel to
multiple campus locations may be required for provision of Counseling Services.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of multicultural concerns that impact students' mental health
Knowledge of ethical and legal standards related to collegiate mental health
Maintain knowledge of best practices and emerging trends in college counseling through attendance and participation in professional development activities
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community.
Skills in provision of evidence-based treatment, consultation, outreach, educational programs, and crisis intervention
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community.
Ability to work as a reliable team member
Strong computer skills, to include word processing, case management software, video conferencing software, e-mail, and the internet.





Major Duties
and Responsibilities:
Provide targeted individual, group, and crisis intervention counseling to students experiencing social, emotional, vocational difficulties and participate in regular case consult meetings with counseling staff.
Make referrals to community agencies and related professional services as necessary
Provide consultation to staff and faculty regarding student mental and behavioral issues
Develop and implement clinical and educational outreach initiatives designed to foster student academic and life success.
Develop and provide various structured and unstructured groups for skill building, support, insight, and personal development of students.
Conduct outreach and training events for student and/or community groups as requested
Provide workshop, class, and staff presentations on a variety of mental health and wellness related topics
Serves on college committees as appropriate
Maintain confidentiality of client information including client records in accordance with professional standards, HIPPA (Health Information Portability and Accountability Act), FERPA (Family Education Rights and Privacy Act) and Tennessee law
