This position is responsible for generating analytical data in support of Arkema's R&D programs and technical service efforts for its North American Business Units. The analytical data is analyzed and reported to internal customers in consultation with the supervising scientist. This position requires hands on laboratory work involving a variety of analytical tools and methods. Work is performed in accordance to safe laboratory practices and with active participation in Arkema's safety initiatives and programs. |

Performs laboratory testing of samples using NMR techniques (40%) Evaluates and interprets data with supervision (20%) Maintains laboratory notebooks, and appropriate records (10%) Writes technical reports, attends technical meetings (10%) Maintains laboratory equipment and supplies (10%) Actively participates in Arkema safety initiatives (10%) |
Context and environment |
Position is part of the U.S. subsidiary of a large, international chemical company. The position interacts predominantly with R&D and Business staff at the KoP site, but will occasionally work with staff from plant locations in North America, as well as with international colleagues. Limited travel (<10%) to training classes and conferences only. In addition to above incumbent will;

Required Education/Qualifications /Work experience |
BS in Materials or Polymer Science/Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Chemistry. Have experience with basic laboratory techniques such as those involved with undergraduate study Experience with NMR techniques and familiarity with NMR software is desirable General knowledge of polymer science is desirable Proficiency in data analysis and clear technical writing Proficiency with computer software (spreadsheet, word processing, presentation and graphical analysis) |
