This Research Outcomes Technician will support all early and late stage preclinical studies including the execution of outcome analysis designed to test drug efficacy and model characterization. They will work closely with the Research Operations Lead to perform functional outcomes for multiple studies. The Research Outcomes Technician will be responsible for understanding basic physiology and anatomy of rodents and will demonstrate proficiency in rodent handling.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
Must adhere to and have a strong understanding of standard operating procedures/guidelines regarding personnel and animal safety
Executes multiple functional outcomes including physiology, open-field analysis, rotarod, grip strength, gait analysis, and plethysmography
Assists in compiling data and conducting statistical analysis
Performs related duties as required
Education and Skills Requirements:
B.S. in Life Sciences, or related field
Strong documentation skills and the ability to multitask are required
Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Strong understanding and ability to follow laboratory methods and SOP's
Strong laboratory animal handling and restraint techniques
Strong organizational skills and ability to follow verbal instructions
Ability to multi-task and prioritize shifting demands and workload
Passionate about animal welfare
Proficiency with Graph Pad, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint programs
