Infrastructure Administrator at Applied Industrial Technologies in Columbus, Ohio

Job Description:

Monitor and maintain Applied's datacenter environments, ensuring they are secure and performing optimally. Complete daily operations as required to manage virtual and physical server environments, storage platforms, fiber channel networks, datacenter environmental controls and power requirements. Anticipate and plan system upgrades and patching keeping these environments secure and supported by the OEM.

Responsibilities:

• 
  vSphere Administrator
  
  
  • Monitor and maintain the vSphere environment; storage, server, network and performance.
  
  
  • Address errors involving other team members as needed.
  
  
  • Maintain templates and create new VMs per approved requests
  
  
  • Maintain accurate documentation of environment
  
  
  
  

• 
  Storage Administrator
  
  
  • Maintain storage environment consisting of multiple vendors and types of storage
  
  
  • Create and maintain documentation of storage design
  
  
  • Report on a monthly basis usage metrics and make recommendations to optimize
  
  
  • Maintain an overall design that considers security and disaster recovery as requirements. SAN replications, SAN level SNAPs, SRM, Zerto, FlashBlade
  
  
  
  

• 
  Level 2/3 Network Administrator Support
  
  
  • Respond to support calls, resolve assigned tickets, and answer after-hours support calls when needed.
  
  
  • Participate in disaster recovery tests, including documenting and testing processes.
  
  
  
  

• 
  Planning, Upgrades, Patches, and Documentation
  
  
  • Review and patch ESX hosts and Vcenter on a quarterly basis. A special focus on security.
  
  
  • Review OEM firmware release on a quarterly basis. Identify releases that contain security fixes or resolve current issues. Apply firmware following proper planning and notification procedures.
  
  
  • Design for current requirement while planning for future growth.
  
  
  • Act as technical lead for any assigned projects.
  
  
  • Develop and maintain up to date documentation for each system that covers basic troubleshooting and disaster recovery procedures: SRM/Zerto, ESX, Brocade, VLANS..

Requirements

• Must have a HS Diploma or Equivalent; BS Degree preferred


• At least 5 years of experience of Infrastructure Support experience
