LPN-AIDS CENTER

The AIDS Center provides HIV primary and specialty care, sexually transmitted disease screening and treatment, HIV biomedical prevention services, Hepatitis C care, and LGBTQ care at the Center for Positive Living/ID Clinic, the Oval Center and the Inpatient Consult Service. The sites serve approximately 4,000 patients per year at about 35,000 visits, and are steadily growing. TheLPNis a critical role in the multidisciplinary care team. TheLPNprovides direct patient care to patients at our Oval Center sexual health clinic including checking in and rooming patients, administering medication and treatments, patient and family education, conducting phone triage assessments and taking refill requests, and other patient care duties according tonursing practice standards

Requirements:

Experience working with one or more of the following populations: individuals living with HIV and/or Hepatitis C, LGBTQ individuals, persons of color, and populations at high risk of HIV infection.Able to multi-task in a fast paced environment, excellent organizational skills, strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, ability to meet deadlines as well as the ability to work effectively with internal and external customers (patients, direct care staff, providers, departmental and executive leadership, etc.). One year of nursing experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Outlook and Microsoft Office Word.

May rotate to the Center for Positive living clinic based on operational needs.

Superb communication and customer service skills are requiredat all times to interact effectively with all patients. Effective English communication skills, written, oral and interpersonal.Ability to use basic data entry and retrieval system. Additional education required by specialty areas/patient care locations.Use of patient care equipment as authorized by scope of practice. Use of electronic clinical information system. Spanish speaking preferred but not required.

New York State License for Practical Nurse and current registration to practice as anLPNin New York State.Basic Life Support.
