Job Description:

OBJECTIVES

Ultimate objective: as Business Partner providing accurate financial statements of all areas of the plants and or functional areas, providing recommendations for improvement.

Main focus: translate the guidelines of the BU and site Manager into the site and or functional budget, monitor compliance of budget versus actual, detect anomalies in operations or alterations in finance metrics (budget overruns, inaccurate inventory valuation) that could affect the company's profitability.

ACTIVITY

PROVIDE FINANCIAL STATEMENTS, CONTROL AND ALERT ON DISCREPANCIES, MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS AND PLAY AN ACTIVE ROLE ON THE FOLLOWING AREAS:

• Fixed costs - ensure the site production costs monitoring: coordinate the monthly fixed costs operations (cost allocation, expenditure commitment, goods/services receipt on due time, time sheet input...), support on a day-to-day basis the local managers in monitoring the budget, request accrual booking or clearing to BOA, alert site Manager / BU when drift, explain cost allocation to the BU,


• Production costs - control cost estimate calculation, control reference Bill of Materials /routings remain unchanged in order to ensure proper Material Usage Variance (MUV) analysis through the year and consistent benchmark, make sure material balance operations are properly performed by manufacturing staff with the right frequency respecting Group reporting schedule, calculate fixed costs and depreciation absorption rate according to ARKEMA Group policy (normal capacity), analyze actual product cost drift (Purchase Price Variance and MUV), inform manufacturing manager and BU Controller of any alteration on production process performance, track under/over absorption at production work centers and UG level,


• Inventory valuation - check and approve finished goods product Standard Cost, communicate RM costing concerns to purchasing, organize/control and validate physical inventories including spare parts and inventory variances, manage (analyze, adjust, validate) inventories provisions (slow moving and quality),


• Site service agreements - monitor local contracts


• AIS - control and detect any variances in regards to budget, Group Reporting Manual, IFRS, US GAAP, request any corrective manual entry to BOA if needed.

INDUSTRIAL INVESTMENT - control project expenses in close coordination with the engineering department, validate the project structure, control the data allocation, contribute to put into service the final asset in close coordination with fixed assets accounting, organize the fixed-assets inventories.

FLASH - provide Flash elements (fixed costs and yield variance) to the BU per reporting schedule.

BUDGET AND YEAR-END FORECAST - organize the site budget process, prepare costing data for next year (calculate activity rates, validate BOMs and routings, analyze standard cost run for the plant), build the Y+1 fixed costs budget (cost centers hierarchy, headcount, payroll, maintenance costs, etc.), define allocation key for common expenses, analyze Y+1 fixed costs evolution versus year-end-forecast, provide the BU a detailed presentation.

FINANCIAL STATEMENT - present to the site Managers all site financial statements, provide a monthly financial report to Operations/ Finance Manager - Operations, Finance Manager - BU and BOA, answer all requested justification regarding site financial elements to external auditors.

INSURANCE - participate in the evaluation of the fixed assets of the sites for the Insurance Direction, participate in the evaluation of the accruals to book in case of an insurance claim.

CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT

• Context: Conyers, GA (80% of time commitment) / R&D / Admin (20%): 250 total headcount with approximately 100 in Conyers, 90 in R&D; 3 BUs


• Constraints: ensure the proper application of Group Reporting Manual rules, Core Model processes, ARKEMA Internal Control policy, closing deadlines respect.


• Travel - 20 - 30% of the time.

REQUESTED SKILLS

• Education: B.S. or B.A. in finance with at least 3-years of experience in an industrial accounting environment


• Practice safe work habits in accordance with OSHA and EPA guidelines and Bostik specific EHS expectations.


• ERP experience (SAP preferred), knowledge of metrics / KPI


• Experience with databases, strong MS Excel skills


• Good relationship building skills, analytical insight, organizational skills, reactivity, ability to see the whole picture and neutrality, analytical capacities to proactively detect drifts.
