Work Days: Monday - Saturday
Job purpose:
Provide operational support through the coordination of quality, service and administrative functions in a 3PL environment. This is an entry level Supervisory role
Duties and Responsibilities:
•Monitor operations reporting metrics related to service, safety, cost and quality. Have an excellent understand of specific client requirements
•Identify and investigate potential performance issues and addresses them with Independent Contractors
•Communicates with Independent Contractors and Independent Service Providers regarding day-to-day operations including load plan changes and implements these changes as necessary
•Investigates customer service complaints to include problems with deliveries, missing freight, damages etc. Communicates resolved issues with customers to ensure customer satisfaction. Escalates unresolved issues to appropriate Management
•Coordinates the dispatch of transportation equipment
•Investigates and reports schedule delays, accidents and equipment failures and implements contingency plans with ensure on lime load delivery in the event of a breakdown or accident
Qualifications:
•Bachelors degree in Logistics, Business or related field
•2+ years experience dispatch, routing and/or last mile home delivery
•Experience with Customer Service and client communication
•Excellent problem solving skills
•Proficient with Excel and Microsoft office
•Familiarity with dispatch tracking software systems a plus
Working Conditions:
•Office is set within a warehouse OR office environment depending on the client. Warehouse setting include exposure to outside and inclement weather conditions
•Must be able to push, pull, lift, load up to 50 lbs assisted
•Must be able to adjust from sitting to standing as needed
•Must be able adjust to elevated noise levels at times
• Should have the ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients and customers
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exits.
• Must have strong PC skills, written and communication skills, and customer service skills
• Must know DOT laws and violations, and OSHA requirements
Education: High School Diploma or GED required
Experience- Prefer two years or more in the Logistics/Transportation industry
