Job Description

The Field Service Supervisor is responsible for directly managing Evoqua installation crews and subcontract installation crews as part of the overall project scope/contract at work sites. You will be erecting steel tanks, installing equipment, rehabilitating equipment, troubleshooting, repair, apply/suggest preventative maintenance and instruct on the safe usage of equipment.

This is not a desk job! You are out in the field with your crew providing diagnoses and engineering support on a diverse assortment of equipment across all product lines, technical support/advisement to Evoqua (internal and external) customers, technical workers and contractors, to gain customer acceptance of Evoqua supplied equipment.

We are seeking a candidate with 8-10 years of experience, ideally with a background in erection of steel tanks, installation of structural materials and mechanical rotating equipment, along with a strong mechanical aptitude.

There is approximately 100% travel to international and domestic job sites to span over nights, weekends, and consecutive weeks. This job requires the ability to work 7 days per week, 10 to 12 hours each day for extended periods of time and consistently perform in excess of 70-hours per week. You must be willing and able to travel to domestic and international job sites.

Responsibilities:


  1. Requires the use of skills in the erection of steel tanks, installation of equipment, electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and mechanical troubleshooting. Requires training to become a CCOC certify crane operator. Would require specialized training such that:

  • Would understand all implications behind changes made and use forward thinking to provide sound solutions.
  • Would be aware of required safety design elements and how added/edited elements fit within the overall safely scheme.
  • Edit for site-specific communication needs.


  1. Supports (external and internal) customers using sound scientific methods within and across varied disciplines through telephone, data connection and on-site assistance to solve issues that may include,

  • Mechanical issues (Pneumatic, hydraulic, gas train or refrigeration, structural, etc.)
  • Electrical issues (hardware, software, electromechanical relay logic and motor control)
  • Quality issues
  • Operational issues
  • Any combination of the above


  1. Performs complex and specialized corrective and preventative maintenance work on equipment, capable of conducting complex problem solving judging for site particulars.

  2. Interpret entries and contractual limitations based on contract specifications and agreements, support essential project scope boundaries, and tactfully conveys these to the customer, as needed.

  3. Responsible for obtaining final customer acceptance of equipment while on site.


  1. Promote service contracts. Schedules time, date, and organizes specific parts to fulfill arranged service contract.

  2. On occasion may be involved with handling warranty claims, working hand-in-hand with the customer on RMA's, receives and orders for replacement parts.

  3. Develops a positive and professional working relationship with specialty and union site craft, learns and follows site rules and safety regulations, and uses good judgment on behalf of Evoqua. As the on-site Evoqua representative, you must promote the values of Evoqua. You are the face of Evoqua wherever you travel; you must treat everyone with respect and be conscious of cultural differences.

  4. Prepares routine reports and forwards to manager and project management on a timely basis. Completes necessary expense report on a weekly basis and submits to Manager for approval.
  5. Provides guidance and training support to internal personnel and produces required training documentation to mentor internal staff.
  6. Assists sales representatives in communicating features, benefits, mechanics and operation of the new product(s).

Job setting and specifications


  • Ability to read and understand civil, mechanical and electrical drawings, as well as having basic knowledge of typical site construction and equipment manufacturing.
  • Ability to obtain an Evoqua credit card.
  • Ability to gain access into Nuclear Power Plants and job sites, passing entrance testing requirements as necessary.
  • Employee must be self-directed and exercise good judgment in making independent decisions in order to complete daily tasks.
  • Must possess a strong sense of urgency in a "job site" environment with the ability to effectively handle competing priorities.
  • Proven ability to professionally communicate with customers, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to demonstrate safe work behavior.
  • Must have excellent computer skills with capability to work with a variety of applications: Microsoft Office, web-based travel reservation and expense applications, etc.

Education:

High School or GED degree required, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification may be required in some areas.
