If you are looking for an opportunity to provide administrative support in Corporate Law, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you!  Based at the Emerson Global Headquarters in St. Louis, Missouri, you will provide administrative support to ensure efficient functioning of the Global Law Department Operations and the M&A, Supply Chain, VMO and Conflict Minerals groups. You will support team members throughout a variety of tasks related to administration, organization and communication. You will also provide general project support. AS AN ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT, YOU WILL: 

For the Global Legal Operations Group (50%)

Project and Administrative Support


  • Work with various members of the Global Legal Operations team to provide general project support for Global Legal Function and Legal Operations projects such as:

    • Assist in data collection, preparation, analysis, and reporting
    • Creation and distribution of communication materials including video filming
    • Coordinate calls and meetings, provide meeting assistance
    • Assist with project plans, reports, and cost tracking
    • Support with any other administrative tasks related to relevant projects

  • Provide general administrative support to the Global Legal Operations team.
  • Maintain Distribution List, Law Department members list, Organization Charts and other relevant records
  • Manage Memberships (LexisNexis, ACC and BAMSL)
  • Create and edit documents, presentations, and other materials

Financial Administration Support

  • Assist in the administration of internal back charge and outside counsel invoices
  • Assist in budget forecast, control and analysis
  • Assist in financial reporting and analysis
  • Provide e-billing assistance to Law Department members, finance, accounts payable and outside counsel
  • Review various subscription invoices to allocate appropriately
  • Log recharge invoice details into Hyperion Planning

For the M&A, Supply Chain, VMO and Conflict Minerals Groups (50%)


  • Assist in various administrative and project management aspects of M&A transactions, including due diligence, document management and internal deal communication
  • Assist in gathering necessary documentation for antitrust and other government filings for M&A transactions
  • Assist in collaborating across businesses and corporate functional teams
  • Plan and organize details for: deal kickoffs and due diligence read out meetings, in collaboration with the Corporate Development department; special events and training events, including meeting logistics and travel arrangements
  • Provide general administrative assistance, as needed, to all members of the legal M&A and supply chain groups, including, but not limited to:

    • scheduling calls and meetings
    • answering incoming telephone calls
    • gathering and organizing reports, exhibits, documents and other materials
    • responding to various incoming requests and escalating issues requiring attorney involvement
    • assisting with the development of presentation materials
    • preparing and processing expense reports
    • maintaining accurate and up to date comprehensive and confidential files and records and assisting entire department in complying with record retention guidelines
    • Proofreading and editing documents
    • copying, scanning, printing, faxing and mailing documents as requested
    • scheduling and maintaining calendar entries on a daily basis
    • assisting attorneys with tracking, completing and submitting annual professional reporting requirement
    • assisting in organizing and maintaining M&A data rooms
    • preparing form non-disclosure agreements

  • Identify and advance process improvement opportunities within the M&A law department as well as within the M&A and supply chain corporate functions
  • Assist with various other matters as requested by the Vice President – Group Leader – M&A, Supply Chain, VMO and other members of the team, as time permits

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:


  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) required
  • 8+ years of administrative experience
  • High level of competency in administrative, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to manage multiple priorities and work in a high-pressure environment and flexibly adapt to changing needs
  • Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Teams, PowerBi) proficiency
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:8+ years of administrative experience in a professional legal environment preferredCollege Degree preferred
