The opportunity
Reporting to a Manager, within the US Stakeholder Relations- US Environment Department, this Environmental Analyst will be responsible for developing and managing environmental air compliance programs and projects, including reporting, permitting, assessing risks, planning and implementing environmental air compliance programs that ensure compliance with all federal, and state or local environmental regulations, company policies, standards and TC Energy procedures. The Environmental Analyst will support Corporate and Regional staff to set policy and procedures and provide air permit compliance support to pipeline assets within TC Energy's US Gas footprint.

What you'll do


  • Maintain facility compliance with air regulations

  • Manage and prepare environmental air data and reports for submittal to local, state, and federal regulatory agencies

  • Work with internal stakeholders, including Business Units for Business Development and Project Management to ensure air permitting goals are adequately communicated and properly implemented

  • Coordinate project work with other departments to ensure issues identified through projects and programs are adequately communicated and addressed

  • Identify, measure, monitor, and mitigate environmental risks and liabilities associated with TC Energy's assets; performing integrated risk assessments to manage environmental issues

  • In coordination with other departments, review and improve the current risk management model to better identify and quantify TC Energy's environmental risks

  • Manage and develop plans, permits, procedures for air quality

  • Legislative Monitoring, gap analysis and risk assessment associated with new, proposed, or promulgated regulations

  • Assist with scheduling and participation in environmental incident investigations, inspections, and audits

  • Prepare reports as needed

  • Other tasks as required

Minimum Qualifications


  • An accredited Bachelor's or Master of Science or Arts degree in an environmental science, planning, engineering, or related curriculum desired

  • Minimum 4 years of combined applicable academic training, certification and related work experience (certification or accreditation in an environmental or scientific discipline)

  • Diverse knowledge in Environmental Regulations

  • Must have comprehensive knowledge of the Clean Air Act and its applicability to natural gas assets

  • Must be able to multitask, maintain flexibility, travel and work independently with minimal supervision

  • High level of analytical ability to gather and evaluate complex information obtained from a variety of sources

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to make decisions and present recommendations where only general policies and procedures are available, requiring application of judgment and independent action

  • Ability to effectively interact at all levels of the organization and across all business functions

  • Knowledge and understanding of emerging issues both internally and externally

  • Strong skills in teamwork, conflict resolution and problem solving

  • A broad range of project management skills (planning, scheduling, budgeting and risk assessment, time management)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant professional designation or certification desired

  • Travel to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings or training which would involve some overnight stays away from home

  • This position may require travel across borders and as such the candidate must be able to provide applicable documentation to this affect
