Job Details:
Job Summary: Support systems engineering processes and supplement skills to systematically convert customer needs into total systems solutions. Apply systems engineering processes to aid in the performance of requirements analysis and management, design oversight, analyses and trade studies, system integration, and system level test. This position typically works under close supervision and direction.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform assigned analyses and trade studies as necessary to aid in the selection of system concepts
Define and document the system requirements for a training system
Allocate system requirements to hardware/software and oversee development/refinement of lower-level requirements
Write specifications, design documentation, and test plans/procedures
Aid the Systems Engineer in hardware/software design oversight
Perform hardware/software integration
Perform system level testing
Gather, analyze, and report metrics
Perform a supporting role on proposals, as required
Aid the Systems Engineer in performance of other systems engineering activities, as needed
Minimum Job Requirements:
Four-year college degree in technical field, or equivalent experience, plus familiarity with the Systems Engineering process.
Basic knowledge and experience in system and software/hardware development.
Experience in computing networks, platforms, and software architectures.
Knowledge and experience in the definition and traceability of system requirements.
Knowledge in the implementation of system requirements verification methods.
Knowledge and experience in the planning of system test activities.
Demonstrate people-oriented management expertise and practices.
Strong presentation and organizational skills.
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Mental ability to perform engineering problem solving and analytical tasks.
Must be able to work under project deadlines and associated cost and schedule constraints.
Proficient in Microsoft Office. ISO 9001:2000, SEI CMMI, and/or Lean/Agile development knowledge and experience preferred.
DOD experience strongly preferred.
General understanding of Rational Requisite Pro and/or Telelogic DOORS preferred.
