SUMMARY: Assists the proposal development team in the proposal process, with the objective of continued company growth.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists in the development, production, and submittal of proposals, which includes participation in proposal review meetings, managing essential resources, and partnering with the business development and program management teams in evaluating bidding opportunities. Ensure key proposals are properly scoped by identifying the missing assumptions, risks, cost to ensure the response match requirements. Participate in strategy sessions on assigned proposals to create, strategize on the approach to develop a winning proposal. Assist in the management of proposal tool systems in collaboration with operations to ensure accurate service descriptions are aligned with operational practices and procedures. Assist in proposal writing and/or identify subject matter experts that can effectively contribute to the requests.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in journalism, marketing, or a combination of post high school and corporate experience may be substituted.
EXPERIENCE: 1-3 years of relative experience; Government contract and proposal experience preferred.
TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY: Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word .
COMPETENCIES: Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, including conveying technical information to technical and non-technical users. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal/external business partners. Ability to evaluate process effectiveness and develop change or alternatives. Ability to function effectively with, or as part of a team. Ability to indirectly mentor, coach, train and/or supervise employees. Ability to effectively manage projects that may vary in nature and scope. Ability to identify and/or document existing and new trend, as well as evaluate and predict their impact on the organization. Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply related professional/company standards as well as applicable federal, state and/or local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations. Knowledge of and ability to apply the principles and practices to strategically align tasks and people with organizational goals and objectives.
JOB SCOPE: Position impacts a single business unit/segment.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature, and the like. Extended use of computer keyboard and viewing of computer monitor and ability to sit for long periods of time.
FLSA STATUS: The position is Exempt. May require the ability to work overtime to meet required deadlines. All work rules, including those that pertain to safety and health are expected to be respected and complied with.
